II-B.CAROLINE "Carrie" RACHEL SIBERT (1829 – 1882), daughter of George Sibert² (John David¹)

Caroline Rachel Sibert was born on 20 January 1830 in Abbeville County, South Carolina. [1][2] She died on 12 September 1892 and is buried in the McCormick City Cemetery in McCormick, McCormick County, South Carolina. [2] She married Reverend Anthony G. Harmon. [1][2] Anthony was born on 26 March 1824 near McCormick. [2][3] He died on 6 February 1898, aged 74, and is buried together in the McCormick City Cemetery. [2][3]

The headstone on Caroline's gravestone says: [2]

According to the census, in 1860, Anthony G., aged 31, and Carrie R., aged 30, lived in Abbeville County with their children Geo. T., aged ten; Oscar M., aged five; and Wm. D., aged four. Anthony was a farmer with real estate worth 2,500 dollars and a personal estate of 5,500 dollars. In 1870, [illegible], aged 45, and C.R., aged 40, lived in Bordeau, Abbeville County with their children S.F.[!], aged 20; O.M., aged 16; W.D., aged 14; L.E., aged six; J.S., aged four; J.A., aged four; and M.A., aged two. [Illegible] was a farmer with real estate worth 1,500 dollars and a personal estate of 500 dollars. In 1880, A.G., aged 56, and C.R., aged 50, lived in Bordeau with their children L.E., aged 18, John S., aged 16; James A., aged 16; Clinton G., aged 14; and Mary A., aged 13. A.G. was a minister and farmer. L.E. was the only one who attended school. [4]

According to his obituary, Anthony was survived by six children: Rev. G.T. Harmon, Rev. J.A. Harmon, Rev. J.C. Harmon, Mr. W.D. Harmon, Mrs. J.A. Creighton, and Miss Addie Harmon. [3]

II-B-1. Reverend George Thomas Harmon was born on 12 April 1850 in Abbeville. He died on 28 May 1915, age 65, age 65 years, two months, and 24 days, in Williamston, Anderson County, South Carolina. [5] He married Margaret Seibles. Margaret was born on 24 June 1842. She died on 7 October 1906. George and Margaret are buried in the Williamston Park Cemetery. [2] The inscriptions on their gravestones say: [2]

George's death certificate names his parents and gives their birth places. According to this certificate, George was a minister and he had lived in Williamston for ten years. [5]

According to the census, in 1880, George aged 30, and Margaret L., aged 37, lived in Brownsville, Marlboro County, South Carolina, with their children Lavinia, aged four; Carrie L., aged two; and George T., Jr., born in October 1879. George was a minister. In 1910 George, aged 60, lived in Williamston with his daughter Carrie Lou, aged 32, and his sister Addie, aged 43. George was a Methodist clergyman. [4]

Lavinia Harmon was born about 1876. She died on 22 August 1936. [2] She married Reverend Peter Stokes. [2] He died on 14 April 1939. Lavinia and Peter are buried in the Sumter Cemetery in Charleston, Charleston County, South Carolina. [2] Children:
- Reverend Peter Stokes, Jr. died on 8 February 1974. [2] He married Josephine Guess. [2] She died on 18 October 1996. [2] Peter and Josephine are buried in the Sumter Cemterty. [2] Children: Peter Stokes III was born on 10 March 1936. [2] He died on 31 May 1995 and is buried in the Sumter Cemetery. [2] Peter was a sergeant in the air force in the Viet Nam War. [2]
- Margaret Eliza Stokes was born on 27 May 1903 and died on 12 November 1903. [2] She is buried in the Williamston Cemetery. [2]
- Sarah Temple Stokes was born on 9 July 1905. [2] She died on 27 December 1982. [2] She married Alexander McLeod Cunningham. [2] He was born on 25 May 1910 and died on 7 January 1982. [2] Sarah and Alexander are buried in the Sumter Cemetery. [2]
- Elizabeth Stokes was born in 1909. [2] She died in 1986. [2] She married first Joseph Whitney Cunningham. [2] He died on 28 September 1956 and is buried in the Sumter Cemetery. [2] She married second as his second wife Dr. Clarence Ervin Saunders. [2] He died on 13 December 1994. [2] He married first Elizabeth Ann Trax. [2] Elizabeth and Clarence are buried in the Southern Palms Memorial Garden in North Myrtle Beach, Horry County, South Carolina. [2] Children: (i) Peter Stokes Cunningham died on 16 April 2019. [2] He married Mary Ann Love. [2] She died on 3 October 2016. [2] Peter and Mary are buried in the Sumter Cemetery. [2] (ii) Joseph Whitney Cunningham, Jr. was born on 24 March 1936. [2] He died on 7 November 2008 and is buried in the Summerville Cemetery in Dorchester County, South Carolina. [2]
Carrie Lou Harmon was born about 1878. According to her obituary, Carrie Lou, the daughter of J.K. Harmon and Margaret Seibels, died on 20 June 1945. [6]
Reverend George Thomas Harmon, Jr. was born on 31 October 1879. [2] He died on 22 May 1934. [2] He married Mary Virginia Sullivan. [2] She was born on 25 December 1878. [2] She died on 3 February 1964. [2] George and Mary are buried in the Sumter Cemetery. [2] Children:
- Virginia Harmon was born on 27 November 1904. [2] She died on 17 December 1991. [2] She married Reverend Henry Fitzhugh Collins. [2] Henry was born on 7 March 1898. [2] He died on 5 March 1978. [2] Virginia and Henry are buried in the Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia, Richmond County, South Carolina. [2]
- George Thomas Harmon III was born on 15 September 1908. [2] He died on 18 May 1981. [2] He married Sarah Williamson. [2] Sarah was born on 23 September 1915. [2] She died on 26 December 1993. [2] George and Sarah are buried in the First Presbyterian Churchyard in Columbia. [2] Sarah married second as his second wife Julian Harold Minson. [2] Julian was born on 19 April 1914 and he died on 31 October 1995. [2] He married first Anne Laurens deSaussure Moore. [2] She was born on 25 August 1914 and died on 13 November 1986. [2] Julian and Anne are buried in the Magnolia Cemetery in Charlestown. [2]

II-B-2. Oscar M. Harmon was born about 1854 in Abbeville. He died in June 1870.

II-B-3. Walter Douglas Harmon was born in April 1856 in McCormick County, South Carolina. [7] He died, a 66-year-old widower, on 13 December 1922 in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia and was buried in the City Cemetery there. [7] He married Caroline Unknown about 1877.

Walter's death certificate gives his parents' names and their birth places. It says he was a farmer. [7]

II-B-4. Elizabeth ("Lizzie") Ella Harmon was born on 15 November 1861 in Abbeville County. She died on 31 August 1953, age 91, in North Augusta, Aiken County, South Carolina. She married James Alonzo Creighton. [2] James was born on 12 June 1859 in McCormick in McCormick County. He died on 3 November 1937 in Augusta. [2][8] James and Elizabeth are buried together in the Sunset Hill Cimetery in North Augusta. [2]

According to his obituary, James was a retired merchant. He was survived by his wife Elizabeth Harmon Creighton, five sons, and four daughters. The sons were George, Wilbur, James, Jr., Charles, and John Creighton; the daughters were Miss Bertha Creighton, Mrs. L.B. Meckman, Mrs. J.M. Buckner, and Miss Alma Creighton. [8]

Children:

George Clifton Creighton was born on 23 August 1884. [2] He died on 19 January 1961. [2] He married Katherine Irene Pattillo. [2] She was born on 9 July 1884 and died on 31 December 1958. [2] George and Katherine are buried in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. [2] Children:
- Col. George Clifton Creighton was born on 6 October 1907. [2] He died on 17 July 1970. [2] He is buried in the Devotion Gardens in Mullens, Marion County, SC. [2] He married Eleanor Wood Corley. She was born on 5 June 1913. [2] She died on 2 March 1994 and is buried in the Cederwood Cemetry in Mullins. [2] George was a soldier in World War II and a colonel in the Army Corps of Engineers. [2] Children: Eleanor Creighton was born on 18 May 1938 and died on 11 July 2018. [2]
- James Pattillo Creighton was born on 11 January 1912 and died on 7 January 1999. [2] He married Victoria Ione Hartman. [2] She was born on 8 November 1914 and died on 28 November 1995. [2] James and Victoria are buried in the St. James Episcopal Church Cemetery on James Island, Charleston. [2] Children: (i) James Pattillo Creighton, Jr. was born on 11 January 1936 and died on 21 April 2009. [2] (ii) Catherine Victoria Creighton was born on 27 June 1944 and died on 12 June 2018. [2] She is buried in the Orangeburg Cemetery in Orangeburg, Orangeburg County, South Carolina. [2]
- William Theodore Creighton was born on 1 June 1915 and died on 15 November 1919. [2] He is buried in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. [2]
- Walter Remington Creighton was born on 16 June 1919 and died on 5 July 1991. [2] He married Clara Idell Buchan. [2] She was born on 17 August 1923 and died on 8 February 2008. [2] Walter was a lieutenant colonel in World War II. [2] Children: Walter Remington Creighton, Jr. was born on 11 August 1949 and died on 13 February 2012. [2] Walter and his parents are buried in the Cedardale Cemetery in Mullins, Marion County, South Carolina. [2]
- John Thomas Creighton was born on 13 June 1921 and died on 28 August 2004. [2] He married Mabel Edwards. [2] She was born on 4 June 1923 and died on 9 July 2001. [2] John and Mable are buried in the Cedardale Cemetery. [2] Children: (i) John Thomas Creighton, Jr. was born on 24 February 1951. [2] He died on 26 May 1979 after falling onto the base of the 400-foot-high Hickory Nut Falls in Rutherford County. [2] (ii) Reverend Gary Edwards Creighton was born on 28 December 1952 and died on 25 October 1991. [2] He was a Methodist preacher. [2]
Bertha Frances Creighton was born on 16 January 1886 and died on 7 July 1966. [2] She is buried in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. [2]
James Alonzo Creighton was born on 7 September 1890 and died on 7 October 1891. [2] He is buried in the McCormick City Cemetery. [2]

Etta Creighton was born in 1894 and died on 4 March 1964. [2] She married James Morgan Buckner. [2] He was born on 13 January 1890 and died on 16 March 1947. [2] Etta and James are buried in the Magnolia Cemetery in Augusta. [2] Children:
- Elizabeth Creighton Buckner was born in 1929 and died on 15 July 1982. [2] She married Thomas Francis O'Grady. [2] He was born on 24 March 1920 and died on 14 December 2014. [2] Elizabeth and Thomas are buried in the Pineview Memorial Gardens in North Augusta. [2]
Wilbur Harmon Creighton was born on 19 May 1894 and died on 7 July 1976. [2] He was a soldier in World War I. [2] Wilbur, his wife, and sons are buried in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. [2] He married Dorine Onida Scattergood. [2] She was born on 14 April 1901 and died on 7 September 1991. [2] Children:
- Wilburn Harmon Creighton, Jr. was born on 7 April 1925 and died in action at Okinawa on 12 May 1945. [2]
- Charlie Scattergood Creighton was born on 23 August 1926 and died on 28 May 2012. [2] He married Patricia Kenney. [2] She was born on 10 November 1929 and died on 21 April 2016. [2] She is buried in the Graniteville Cemetery in Graniteville, Aiken County, South Carolina. Charlie served in the navy in World War II and was a research entomologist. [2]
Alma E. Creighton was born on 17 April 1895 and died on 30 January 1992. [2] She is buried in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. [2]
Charles Pierce Creighton was born on 9 February 1900 and died on 4 February 1941. [2] He is buried in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. [2]
Vera Creighton was born on 16 July 1902 and died on 13 April 1976. [2] She is buried in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. [2]
John Thomas Creighton was born on 4 August 1905 and died on 23 May 1979. [2] He married Myrtle Beth Gassaway. [2] She was born on 12 August 1915 and died on 18 August 1994. [2] John and Myrtle are buried at the Martins Cross Roads Congregational Holiness Church in Lincoln, Lincolntown, Georgia. [2] John was an entomologist. He received his Ph.D. from Ohio State in 1935 and was a professor at the University of Florida. [2]

II-B-5. John Sibert Harmon (twin) was born on 20 or 21 July 1863 in McCormick County. He died in 1890.

II-B-6. Reverend James Alston Harmon (twin) was born on 20 or 21 July 1863 in McCormick County. He died on 22 December 1942 and is buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. [2] He married first Minnie Lee Fuller on 10 May 1888 in New Orleans. He married second Mamie Feagin about 1897. [9] Mamie was born in August 1869 in Georgia. She died on or shortly before 4 January 1953. [9]

James was a Methodist minister.

According to the census, in 1910 Rev. James A., aged 46, and Mamie F, aged 40, lived in Lowndes County, Georgia with their children James P, aged 19 and born in California; T. Leon, aged ten and born in Georgia; Geo. F., aged seven and born in Georgia; and Mamie, aged three and born in Georgia. James was a Methodist minister. He and Mamie had been married for 13 years and Mamie had had three children and they were all living. [4]

In 1940, James A., aged 76, and Mamie F, aged 71, lived in Macon with their son George, aged 36. [4]

James's gravestone says: [2]

Mamie's obituary says she was survived by children Thomas Leonhardt Harmon, George Feagin Harmon, and Mamie Harmon and stepchildren Mrs. Irby Hudson and James Percy Harmon. [9]

Children of James and Minnie Harmon:

Caroline Harmon was born in New Orleans. [10] She died on 14 December 1963 in Gulfport, Mississippi. [10] She married first ___ Ashley. [11] She married second Irby Hudson on 18 December 1923. [10]
James Percy Harmon was born about 1891 in California.

Children of James and Mamie Harmon:

Thomas Leonhardt Harmon was born about 1900 in Georgia.
George Feagin Harmon was born about 1903 in Georgia.
Mamie Harmon was born about 1907 in Georgia.

II-B-7. Reverend Clinton G. Harmon was born on 5 June 1865 in South Carolina. He died on 8 September 1910 and is buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Trinidad, Las Animas County, Colorado. [2] He married Elizabeth Bryan.

According to the census, in 1910 Clinton, aged 44, and Lizzie, aged 37, lived in Trinidad with their son Thornton, aged 16 and born in Oregon. Clinton was a minister. [4]

Children:

Thornton Harmon was born on 22 July 1893 in Oregon and died in 1929. [2] He married Helen C. Raber. [2] She was born on 25 December 1895 and died in February 1970. [2] Thornton and Helen are buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Trinida, Las Animas County, Colorado. [2]

II-B-8. Mary Adaline ("Addie") Harmon was born on 15 November 1866 in South Carolina. [5] She died on 27 December 1957, age 91, at the South Carolina State Hospital in Columbia, where she had been for over three years. [5] She was buried in McCormick, McCormick County. [5]

In 1910, Addie, aged 43, was single. She lived with her widowed brother George in Williamston. [4]
