II-B.CAROLINE "Carrie" RACHEL SIBERT (1829 – 1882), daughter of George Sibert2 (John David1)

Caroline Rachel Sibert was born on 20 January 1830 in Abbeville County, South Carolina. [1][2] She died on 12 September 1892 and is buried in the McCormick City Cemetery in McCormick, McCormick County, South Carolina. [2] She married Reverend Anthony G. Harmon. [1][2] Anthony was born on 26 March 1824 near McCormick. [2][3] He died on 6 February 1898, aged 74, and is buried together in the McCormick City Cemetery. [2][3]

The headstone on Caroline's gravestone says: [2]

According to the census, in 1860, Anthony G., aged 31, and Carrie R., aged 30, lived in Abbeville County with their children Geo. T., aged ten; Oscar M., aged five; and Wm. D., aged four. Anthony was a farmer with real estate worth 2,500 dollars and a personal estate of 5,500 dollars. In 1870, [illegible], aged 45, and C.R., aged 40, lived in Bordeau, Abbeville County with their children S.F.[!], aged 20; O.M., aged 16; W.D., aged 14; L.E., aged six; J.S., aged four; J.A., aged four; and M.A., aged two. [Illegible] was a farmer with real estate worth 1,500 dollars and a personal estate of 500 dollars. In 1880, A.G., aged 56, and C.R., aged 50, lived in Bordeau with their children L.E., aged 18, John S., aged 16; James A., aged 16; Clinton G., aged 14; and Mary A., aged 13. A.G. was a minister and farmer. L.E. was the only one who attended school. [4]

According to his obituary, Anthony was survived by six children: Rev. G.T. Harmon, Rev. J.A. Harmon, Rev. J.C. Harmon, Mr. W.D. Harmon, Mrs. J.A. Creighton, and Miss Addie Harmon. [3]

II-B-1. Reverend George Thomas Harmon was born on 12 April 1850 in Abbeville. He died on 28 May 1915, age 65, age 65 years, two months, and 24 days, in Williamston, Anderson County, South Carolina. [5] He married Margaret Seibles. Margaret was born on 24 June 1842. She died on 7 October 1906. George and Margaret are buried in the Williamston Park Cemetery. [2] The inscriptions on their gravestones say: [2]

George's death certificate names his parents and gives their birth places. According to this certificate, George was a minister and he had lived in Williamston for ten years. [5]

According to the census, in 1880, George aged 30, and Margaret L., aged 37, lived in Brownsville, Marlboro County, South Carolina, with their children Lavinia, aged four; Carrie L., aged two; and George T., Jr., born in October 1879. George was a minister. In 1910 George, aged 60, lived in Williamston with his daughter Carrie Lou, aged 32, and his sister Addie, aged 43. George was a Methodist clergyman. [4]

II-B-2. Oscar M. Harmon was born about 1854 in Abbeville. He died in June 1870.

II-B-3. Walter Douglas Harmon was born in April 1856 in McCormick County, South Carolina. [7] He died, a 66-year-old widower, on 13 December 1922 in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia and was buried in the City Cemetery there. [7] He married Caroline Unknown about 1877.

Walter's death certificate gives his parents' names and their birth places. It says he was a farmer. [7]

II-B-4. Elizabeth ("Lizzie") Ella Harmon was born on 15 November 1861 in Abbeville County. She died on 31 August 1953, age 91, in North Augusta, Aiken County, South Carolina. She married James Alonzo Creighton. [2] James was born on 12 June 1859 in McCormick in McCormick County. He died on 3 November 1937 in Augusta. [2][8] James and Elizabeth are buried together in the Sunset Hill Cimetery in North Augusta. [2]

According to his obituary, James was a retired merchant. He was survived by his wife Elizabeth Harmon Creighton, five sons, and four daughters. The sons were George, Wilbur, James, Jr., Charles, and John Creighton; the daughters were Miss Bertha Creighton, Mrs. L.B. Meckman, Mrs. J.M. Buckner, and Miss Alma Creighton. [8]

II-B-5. John Sibert Harmon (twin) was born on 20 or 21 July 1863 in McCormick County. He died in 1890.

II-B-6. Reverend James Alston Harmon (twin) was born on 20 or 21 July 1863 in McCormick County. He died on 22 December 1942 and is buried in the Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. [2] He married first Minnie Lee Fuller on 10 May 1888 in New Orleans. He married second Mamie Feagin about 1897. [9] Mamie was born in August 1869 in Georgia. She died on or shortly before 4 January 1953. [9]

James was a Methodist minister.

According to the census, in 1910 Rev. James A., aged 46, and Mamie F, aged 40, lived in Lowndes County, Georgia with their children James P, aged 19 and born in California; T. Leon, aged ten and born in Georgia; Geo. F., aged seven and born in Georgia; and Mamie, aged three and born in Georgia. James was a Methodist minister. He and Mamie had been married for 13 years and Mamie had had three children and they were all living. [4]

In 1940, James A., aged 76, and Mamie F, aged 71, lived in Macon with their son George, aged 36. [4]

James's gravestone says: [2]

Mamie's obituary says she was survived by children Thomas Leonhardt Harmon, George Feagin Harmon, and Mamie Harmon and stepchildren Mrs. Irby Hudson and James Percy Harmon. [9]

II-B-7. Reverend Clinton G. Harmon was born on 5 June 1865 in South Carolina. He died on 8 September 1910 and is buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Trinidad, Las Animas County, Colorado. [2] He married Elizabeth Bryan.

According to the census, in 1910 Clinton, aged 44, and Lizzie, aged 37, lived in Trinidad with their son Thornton, aged 16 and born in Oregon. Clinton was a minister. [4]

Children:

II-B-8. Mary Adaline ("Addie") Harmon was born on 15 November 1866 in South Carolina. [5] She died on 27 December 1957, age 91, at the South Carolina State Hospital in Columbia, where she had been for over three years. [5] She was buried in McCormick, McCormick County. [5]

In 1910, Addie, aged 43, was single. She lived with her widowed brother George in Williamston. [4]
